1. HEALTH & SAFETY CONCERNS include Asthma and lung diseases, vulnerability of the elderly and the children to particulates, KIDNEY DISEASE

2. TRAFFIC CONCERNS include Benzene from truck emissions, Carbon Monoxide etc.

3. Unaddressed possible existence of Natural Occurring Asbestos in Laporte environment and mining sites!

 

The lack of investigation, policy-making and regulations regarding Natural Occurring Asbestos (NOA) and radioactive trail dust in consideration of the high density and proximity of gravel pits that border on backyards of homes, a school and in the heart of town remains a constant unaddressed threat to Public Safety in Laporte.
